Pink is planning on getting the party started this fall thanks to a new single the pop singer has recorded to play at the opening of “NBC Sunday Night Football.” The singer has lent her talents to “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” – which is set to the music from rocker Joan Jett’s “I Hate Myself for Loving You,” but with new lyrics.
NBC producer Fred Gaudelli has stated the singer was picked for her “tremendous talent” and “crossover appeal.”
Along with Pink’s rocking opener, football fans can look forward to a new musical theme by legendary film composer John Williams for NBC’s “Football Night in America” studio show and “Sunday Night Football” broadcasts.
“It has been great fun and a rare privilege to have been asked to contribute music for NBC’s broadcast of one of our country’s greatest traditions — football!” Williams said in a statement. “The outstanding athletes that play this game are similar to our great musicians in that they all require complete dedication and rigorous daily practice to stay sharp.”
