Prince Charles
Britain's Prince Charles tried sword dancing yesterday (18.03.13).
The prince attempted to join in with sword tossing and mock fighting to music after being handed a blade and a small ceremonial shield during a visit to the Nizwa Fort in Oman, but quickly called a halt to his performance and watched the rest of the display from the sidelines as his wife, Duchess Camilla, appeared to be fighting off a fit of the giggles.
The couple were then introduced to market sellers, prompting Charles to quip: 'Let the shopping begin.'
Camilla quickly put aside a number of items she liked, exclaiming: 'I love these baskets, they are so lovely.'
Later in the visit, Charles and Camilla were treated to a miniature equestrian festival, which included pure Arabian horses and horse beauty shows, as well as cart horse shows with various formations accompanied the Royal Guard of Oman music.
Despite his awkward turn on the dance floor, Charles insisted he had had a great day.
He said: 'Can you thank them for arranging all this? It was wonderful.
'Ask them to make sure they keep the traditions going.'
The couple are due to return from their tour of the Middle East later today (19.03.13).
