Prince Charles
Britain's Prince Charles comforted Katherine Jenkins after she lost her father.
The heir to the throne offered his personal condolences to the classical singer - whose father passed away from cancer when she was 15 years old - and her mother after meeting the 32-year-old star at a Macmillan Cancer event.
She said: 'Last week, I went with Macmillan to open a new cancer unit, and Prince Charles was there.
'One of the first things he said to me was, 'I didn't realise that your 'pa' had died of cancer'. I told mum and she loved the fact that Prince Charles had mentioned dad.'
The blonde beauty experienced further heartache last year when she split from lover Gethin Jones, but admits singing the National Anthem in front of the queen at Epsom Racecourse to kick start the monarch's Diamond Jubilee celebrations helped to turn 2012 into an 'exciting year'.
She added to Woman & Home magazine: 'Last year was crazy. It started off in a personal sense in a very devastating way when Gethin and I broke up and I didn't know how it was going to work out.
'Then 'Dancing With The Stars' happened in America, and then singing at the Olympics and the Jubilee. It was an exciting year but I didn't stop working and this year I need more balance.'
