Duchess Catherine gets advice from Reese

Duchess Catherine has reportedly been asking Reese Witherspoon for parenting advice.

The 31-year-old royal is expecting her first child with husband Prince William later this year and she is said to have turned to the 'Sweet Home Alabama' actress for tips on how to cope, as the pair became close after meeting in Los Angeles last year.

A source told America's Star magazine: 'They have developed a very strong bond. Kate knows Reese would never reveal anything about their talks and Reese knows what it's like to live in the spotlight. They have a lot in common.

'Kate talks to Reese about all of her questions and concerns. She has become kind of an older sister Kate can confide in.'

Reese welcomed her third child, Tennessee, into the world last September and relishes in her role as a mother.

Earlier this week, Catherine - who was known as Kate Middleton prior to her 2011 wedding - hinted she is expecting a baby girl.

The duchess dropped a major clue that she and William are set to welcome a daughter in July.

After a well-wisher presented her with a white teddy bear during an official visit to Grimsby, north England on Tuesday (05.03.13) and she said: 'Thank you, I will take that for my d... for my baby.'

Sandra Cook, who was standing next to a woman who gave Kate the cuddly toy, said: 'As she handed it over I distinctly heard Kate say, 'Thank you, I will take that for my d...' Then she stopped and corrected herself to say, '... for my baby'.

'When she shook hands with me I said, 'You nearly slipped up there, you were going to say daughter, weren't you?' She smiled and said, 'What do you mean? We don't know yet'.

'I teased her and said, 'Oh I think you do' - to which, still smiling, she replied, 'We're not telling.' I'm certain it's a girl. She wouldn't have said the D-word otherwise. After she said it, she was a little flustered.'
