Duchess Catherine shops for jeggings

Britain's Duchess Catherine was spotted shopping for jeggings.

The 31-year-old royal - who is expecting her first child with husband, the Prince William - visited a Gap store in Chelsea, west London on Friday (25.01.13), where she was reportedly looking to buy a pair of the denim-patterned leggings.

A source told People magazine: 'She was looking for jeggings, which are jeans that look like leggings, as she said she liked very skinny jeans. She didn't buy anything as she couldn't find the right leg length.'

The expectant mother was said to be wearing a shawl as she browsed shops along King's Road and Sloane Square, and also popped into sandwich chain Prêt a Manger, with the source adding: 'She sometimes comes on weekends with a friend to get a coffee.'

A spokesperson for the royal couple announced the duchess' pregnancy in December after she was hospitalised with hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness which often plagues expectant mothers in their first trimester.

The duchess - known as Kate Middleton before her marriage to the 30-year-old Duke of Cambridge - is now thought to be in her second trimester and is due to give birth in July.
