Duchess Catherine's 'amazing' portrait

Duchess Catherine
Britain's Duchess Catherine has described her first official portrait as 'amazing'.
The 31-year-old royal - who is currently expecting her first child with husband Prince William - went to London's National Portrait Gallery this morning (11.01.13) to get an exclusive view of the painting and she was clearly impressed.
She told artist Paul Emsley: 'It's just amazing, I thought it was brilliant.'
Emsley created the large head and shoulders painting of the duchess set against his trademark dark background and, following Catherine's suggestion, it depicts her natural, not official, persona.
The duchess - who was known as Kate Middleton before her April 2011 wedding - was joined by her husband for a private viewing of the painting before it goes on display to the public this afternoon.
The royal couple spent around 10 minutes looking at the portrait privately then met Emsley and his wife Susanne and daughter Marie.
The couple later attended a private breakfast reception at the London gallery to mark the unveiling, with guest including her parents and siblings.
