Duchess Catherine
Britain's Duchess Catherine had the most iconic hair of 2012.
The Duchess of Cambridge - who is currently expecting her first child with husband Prince William - topped a poll by leading professional hair products retailer Fabriah.com, to find the most popular tresses of the past 12 months.
A panel of judges produced a top 20 which was then handed over to the public vote and the top ten was compiled by combining both the judges' and public's scores.
Catherine - who is also known as her maiden name of Kate Middleton - came top, closely followed by singer Emeli Sande and London Mayor Boris Johnson.
Catherine's grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth, came fourth with the judges complementing the timeless quality of her platinum locks.
Francesca Davies from Fabriah.com commented: 'From the Jubilee to the Olympics to the announcement of a new Royal baby, 2012 has been full of highlights. What's more, throughout the year, these pinnacles have been marked with some fantastic hair.
'2012 has been a fantastic year for so many of the celebrities on our list but in particular Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. She has, what we call in the industry, trend setting hair. In fact I would go as far as saying that Kate is the biggest hair trend-setter since Jennifer Aniston's 'Rachel'.
'I was surprised to see some of the big names of 2012 fail to make it into the top ten such as Jessie J and Michelle Obama seeing as they scored rather highly with the judges.'
The Top 10:
1 Duchess Catherine
2 Emily Sande
3 Boris Johnson
4 Queen Elizabeth
5 Bradley Wiggins
6 Lana Del Rey
7 Harry Styles
8 Cheryl Cole
9 Holly Willoughby
10 Pudsey the dog
