Duchess of Cambridge to remain in hospital
Dec 4, 2012, 12:02 GMT

Duchess Catherine
Britain's Duchess of Cambridge will spend 'several days' in hospital.
The stunning royal - who announced she was expecting a baby with her husband Prince William yesterday (03.12.12) - has been ordered to stay on at London's King Edward VII hospital in order to fully recuperate after being admitted yesterday with acute morning sickness.
A spokesperson for Clarence House told the MailOnline: 'The situation is the same as yesterday - we said she would stay in for several days and that is still the case. It's a period of rest that she needs, so she will stay in for several days.'
The happy couple had hoped to keep the news a secret until Christmas Day, but decided to issue a statement when Catherine was rushed to hospital with severe vomiting, a condition known as hyperemesis gravidarum.
William plans to visit his wife today after returning to Kensington Palace last night, and the 30-year-old royal's sister Pippa Middleton is expected to be paying her a visit shortly.
Sources say there is 'no cause for alarm' and no harm will occur to either the mother or the baby, insisting the long hospital stay is merely a precautionary measure.
The couple drove themselves to the hospital in Marylebone, central London yesterday after William worried Catherine wasn't keeping any food or drink down over the weekend. The duchess - who is just eight weeks pregnant - was put on a drip to restore fluid and nutrients.
