Prince Edward and countess Sophie
Britain's Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex visited a toy factory in Malta earlier this week.
The royal couple were special guests at the Playmobil factory on the island republic ahead of the prince appearing at the 11th International Award Forum.
While there Prince Edward and spouse Sophie met young adults who graduated from the Inspire Foundation for Inclusion Adult Training and Employment Centre.
Their visit - to the factory, located in Hal Far - was accompanied by the British High Commissioner in Malta, Rob Luke and his wife Louise.
Edward will open the International Forum as part of his role as chairman of the Duke of Edinburgh Award's International Council.
Playmobil - a series of figures and playsets in various themes, aimed at young children - have welcomed many international guests over their years, including German Politician, Horst Seehofer, who was given a specially made Playmobil figure of current German chancellor, Angela Merkel.
Other activities on the royals' trip included a reception on board HMS Illustrious, berthed in Malta's Grand Harbour and a visit to the Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship in Mounts Bay.
