The Queen and Prince Philip
Britain's Queen Elizabeth gives her husband Googling tips.
The 86-year-old monarch celebrated her 65th wedding anniversary to Prince Philip on Tuesday (20.11.12), and staff at Buckingham Palace think the secret to their long-lasting marriage is a shared sense of humour as she often suggests things likely to interest him he can look up online.
Staff claim the queen has been known to turn to her husband and joke: 'You'd better Google that.'
The royal couple set a precedent by reaching their Blue Sapphire anniversary, as no royal couple in British history have stayed married for as long.
The queen and Philip first met in 1939 while he was a naval cadet before marrying at Westminster Abbey in 1947, and sources close to the pair insist the prince has organised his entire life around his wife and always puts her royal duties first.
A palace worker told the MailOnline: 'In a sense, his life is very simple. It is 100 per cent support for the queen. The organisation of his life is based entirely on the queen's programme. So he will not look at his programme until the queen's programme has been decided. Only then does he decide what to do.'
Aside from sharing the latest internet sensations and mastering the art of compromise, the secret of their long relationship is simply a classic 'love story' and the royals still dote upon each other.
A family friend added: 'There are some people who don't need many friends. And those two, they're just a real love story - taking tea together every day, talking about everything. He might take out a letter and read it to her or crack a joke. They just adore each other.'
