Princess Diana
The biographer of the late Princess Diana has been involved in a fatal car crash.
Andrew Morton and his wife Carolyn were hospitalised as a result of the accident in South Africa - where they were honeymooning - when the incident took place, and an adult and a baby died in the collision.
Carolyn has been discharged from the Mediclinic Nelspruit, but Andrew - who has written books about Diana, Tom Cruise and Angelina Jolie - is still hospitalised.
He said: 'It was a marvellous holiday. We were watching lions and a female leopard shortly before hitting the road and that horrible accident happened.
'I am well under the circumstances. The other people are dead.'
Andrew credits the fact he and his wife were wearing seatbelts for saving their lives.
He told the Evening Standard newspaper: 'It was a head-on collision. Had my wife and I not been wearing safety belts, we would have been dead.'
Andrew suffered a fractured sternum and ribs during the accident.
Post-mortems are due to be carried out on both of the deceased.
