Prince Harry
Britain's Prince Harry has phoned home three times from Afghanistan.
The 28-year-old royal is in regular contact with Buckingham Palace and his father Prince Charles revealed during a Sydney reception at Garden Island - home to a Royal Australian Navy base - they regularly catch up about his military duties with the Army Air Corps.
Major Karl Reynolds, from 19th Chief Engineer Works, said: '[Charles] was talking about the Apache [helicopters] and what a lethal bit of kit they are - once the Taliban see it they disappear.
'And he was also saying he had received calls from his son, he said he had phoned three times.
'It's good Harry is phoning home, it's so easy to do now with the internet, a letter is always good but you can't beat a call home.'
The Prince of Wales said he was 'immensely proud of his son' when Harry - an Apache helicopter pilot - flew out in September for a four-month tour with the Army Air Corps, shortly after his naked photo scandal in Las Vegas.
The flame-haired royal spent 10 days training to hone his skills when he first deployed but is now busy operating as a co-pilot gunner.
