Dame Kelly Holmes' favourite moment of London 2012 was Queen Elizabeth's opening ceremony cameo.
The retired athlete thought the 86-year-old monarch's spoof - in which she appeared to parachute out of a plane into the Olympic Stadium in east London alongside Daniel Craig, who was in character as James Bond - was hilarious and a 'perfect' start to the Games.
Speaking at the launch party for EE - the UK's first superfast 4G mobile network - at London's Battersea Power Station last night (01.11.12), she exclusively told BANG Showbiz: 'My favourite bit about the Olympics was when the queen parachuted out of the plane - that was brilliant. I was laughing so much! It was a perfect start to the Olympics.'
As well as the queen's sketch, the 42-year-old Olympic legend loved watching the events at London 2012 this summer and praised the Team GB and Paralympics GB athletes for giving the nation 'a great lift'.
She added: 'It was all amazing, the Olympics and the Paralympics. We did so well, the athletes were brilliant. It helped give the whole country a great lift.
'The atmosphere was fantastic in the stadium and it really showed London off.'
