'Unsung heroine' Queen Elizabeth

Queen Elizabeth
Britain's Queen Elizabeth is the 'unsung heroine' of the nation.
The 86-year-old monarch has celebrated her Diamond Jubilee this year - which has seen events up and down Great Britain - and comedian David Walliams says she's a great asset to the country and worth every penny.
He said: 'The Jubilee made us consider what the queen has done for us. It made us realise that she is worth every penny of the 52p she costs each of us a year. She is the unsung heroine of our nation - and she has always been there for us.'
Last night (31.10.12), David hosted Harper Bazaar's Women of the Year Awards, where the queen was named Icon of the Year.
However, she was unable attend the glamorous event as she continued her schedule of Diamond Jubilee year engagements by hosting a state banquet for the President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who is on a three-day visit to the UK.
David will come into contact with the queen again when he hosts this year's 'Royal Variety Performance', which Elizabeth will watch from the royal box at London's Royal Albert Hall.
The ITV production - which will feature performances by Robbie Williams, Celine Dion and Kylie Minogue - will be recorded on November 19 and screened on TV in early December.
