Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to attend university dinner
Oct 31, 2012, 16:01 GMT

Catherine and William
Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend a dinner in honour of St. Andrews University.
The couple - who first met when they were both studying at the prestigious Scottish institution - will mingle with 250 people to celebrate the 600th Anniversary Scholarship Fund, which allows students from disadvantaged backgrounds to study at St Andrews, on November 8.
Prince William is already a patron of the fund, and Catherine has since become involved.
Acapella group The Other Guys will also be taking part at the event, held at Westminster's Middle Temple Hall.
Speaking prior to the celebration, William told how 'proud' he is to be a patron for the initiative.
He said: 'It's knowing that so many of Scotland's finest brains and great achievers gained - and continue to gain - inspiration from this place that makes me so proud to be the Patron of our University's 600th Anniversary Appeal.'
William was largely left alone to get on with his student life when studying at the institution, and even lived in student accommodation while there.
