Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be 'amazing' parents.

Prince William and Duchess Catherine - who also goes by her maiden name of Kate Middleton - have made no secret of their desire to have children and when they do start a family, British actress Natalie Cassidy knows parenthood is a role they will excel in.

She said: 'They are the new breed of royals and William and Kate's children will be brought up in such an easy-going fashion. I think they will be amazing parents.'

Natalie thinks the royal couple are perfect for each other and says William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, will be excited at the prospect of them starting a family together.

Writing in her column for The People newspaper: 'It seems that he's so happy with Kate - he truly has found his soul mate. I bet our lovely queen is busy knitting booties in readiness as you read this!'

William - the second in line to the British throne - recently revealed he wants two children with Catherine.

The prince was taking part in a walkabout at the Gardens by the Bay attraction on their recent trip to Singapore when he was asked by a young boy how big a family he would like.

He immediately answered: 'Two.'
