Pippa Middleton's style praised by Kate Spade New York

Pippa Middleton's 'feminine yet modern sense of style' has been praised by a major fashion label.

Kate Spade New York has commended the 29-year-old sister of Duchess Catherine for her frequent use of colour within her look and the way she 'effortlessly' makes herself appear beautiful.

They said: 'She always looks effortlessly put together and Pippa isn't afraid to wear colour - which is one of our favourite things here at Kate Spade New York.'

Pippa - who shot to fame as the maid of honour at Catherine and Prince William's wedding in April last year - has also been praised by the fashion label for re-using her accessories and garments on a number of occasions to show that clothes can still be worn more than once despite being in the public eye.

The brand added to Grazia Daily: 'We think it's fantastic how Pippa repeats her outfits and accessories, it sets a great example that fashion doesn't have to be thrown out after one wear.'

But not every fashion expert is a fan of Pippa's style as Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld recently slammed the 29-year-old beauty saying he 'didn't like' her face, but he later insisted his comments had been misunderstood.

He explained: 'I didn't mean that. I only meant I don't think her make-up is right. She has a roundish face and round eyes and she should pick another make-up for the eyes.

'Her sister's more beautiful. Kate can try anything. For make-up she has no limits.'

However, Karl was full of praise for Catherine - who was known as Kate Middleton prior to her nuptials - and Pippa's mother Carole Middleton, who he thinks is 'very sexy'.

He said: 'I think Carole is very sexy. I think the mother is sexier than the daughters. There is something full of life about her. For a woman who must be 50 or so, I think she's great. Full of energy.'
