Prince Harry's naked antics backed by former Army chief
Sep 27, 2012, 11:01 GMT
Britain's Prince Harry has been backed by a former head of the Army over his naked antics in Las Vegas.
The 28-year-old royal caused controversy when nude photographs of him playing strip billiards with a bevy of beauties were published online last month, but General Sir Mike Jackson has 'no difficulty' with the images and says the flame-haired prince's only crime was getting caught.
He said: 'All young officers are probably saying, 'There but for the grace of God go I,' and even some older officers are remembering perhaps the odd moment in their youth when they were being not as wise perhaps as they might have been.
'No. I have no difficulty with it. One does remember the 11th commandment: Thou shalt not get caught.'
Mike also backed the decision to send Harry - who is a qualified Apache helicopter pilot - back to war after the prince was deployed to Afghanistan for a four-month stint based at Camp Bastian in Helmand province earlier this month.
He is quoted by the Daily Telegraph newspaper as saying: 'He's a young officer in the Army and he must do his duty along with all other soldiers. There is no question in my mind about that.
'Let's be clear. It's what he wants as any young officer with red blood in his veins is going to want to go on operations.'
Earlier this month, Harry - who is known as Captain Wales while in the Army - was moved to a secure location under guard during a Taliban attack on his Afghanistan base.
He previously spent 10 weeks fighting in the region in 2007-2008 but was brought back to the UK when the media reported his whereabouts.
