Tim Burton thinks Britain's Queen Elizabeth 'works her ass off'.
The 'Frankenweenie' director has a lot of respect for the monarch and would hate to be appointed Head of State himself because the days are so 'hard'.
He said: 'People rag on the monarchy but when you see the queen in action, she works her ass off.
'It made me respect how hard her day is. It's like having to attend a premiere every day.
'I wouldn't want that job. Tourists like it and it serves its purpose.'
Tim admits he has found meeting the queen 'surreal' and one of the most memorable occasions was when his long-term partner Helena Bonham Carter - with whom he has children Billy, eight, and four-year-old Nell - received a CBE.
He explained to Live magazine: 'I've met the queen a couple of times. It's one of those surreal moments you get to cross off in life.
'When Helena received her CBE we took my daughter - and that was a mistake.
'Having a four year old asking, 'What are they doing now? Why?' '
