Duke and Duchess of Cambridge dance in grass skirts

Britain's Prince William and Duchess Catherine took part in a dance routine on the latest leg of their South Pacific tour yesterday (18.09.12).

The royal couple wore beads, flowers and traditional grass skirts as they visited the island of Tuvalu on the last part of the tour and joined six communities at a gathering where they took part in a friendly dancing contest.

The duchess - who has been at the centre of a furore over topless photographs of her published in a French magazine - was seen smiling and dancing while taking part, and even sprayed perfume on to performers as part of a traditional routine, using a bottle of Paul Smith London.

Asked by senior government official Tapugao Falefou if he had enjoyed himself, William responded: 'It was good, really good - an amazing evening.'

While on Tuvalu, William gave a speech saying the tiny island nation held a special place in the heart of Queen Elizabeth - on whose behalf they are travelling.

He said: 'Tuvalu and the peoples of these islands hold a very special place in the queen's heart.'

The couple are now headed back to the UK following the completion of the nine-day tour, which included stops in Singapore, Malaysia and Borneo.
