Naomi Watts has is 'dreading' the public's reaction to her portraying Britain's Princess Diana.

'The Ring' star admits she is feeling pressure over the expectations people will have ahead of her performance as the late princess - who died in a Paris car crash in 1997 - in forthcoming movie 'Diana'.

She said: 'I am dreading the reaction amongst the public to my playing her.

'You know that people will complain that you don't look enough like her, that you're not tall enough, all those things.'

The 43-year-old actress wants to make sure that she does justice to Diana's sons Princes William and Harry as well.

She told Britain's The Sun newspaper: 'It's also more complicated and sensitive when you take into account her two boys - William and Harry.

'But I want to do her justice and help tell her story truthfully.'

Although it is 15 years since Diana died, Naomi vividly remembers the moment she heard the news.

She said: 'I was in a room full of people watching the news about Diana's death and we were all crying and deeply upset. It's one of those events you never forget.'
