Prince Philip
Letters sent by Britain's Prince Philip to actress Pat Kirkwood are to feature in a new stage show.
The collection of writings - signed by the Duke of Edinburgh on his personal paper - were sent from Balmoral and Sandringham estates and will appear in 'Pat Kirkwood is Angry' starring Jessica Walker.
The letters are currently in the possession of royal biographer Michael Thornton, as part of a request in Pat's will, but Jessica has not seen them in their entirety.
She said: 'I have not been allowed to see the actual documents, but I have been given access to significant passages.
'They show how deeply the rumours which endured for 60 years affected her. She was furious with the Palace for not protecting her.'
The pair first met in 1948 when Queen Elizabeth was eight-months pregnant with Prince Charles, and speculation about their relationship persisted for years.
It is believed the rumours led to her being kept off the Honours list.
She died at the age of 86 in 2007.
