Princess Beatrice to climb Mont Blanc
Sep 5, 2012, 19:19 GMT

Princess Beatrice
Britain's Princess Beatrice is to scale Mont Blanc for charity.
The 24-year-old princess - the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York - will be joined by five others in an attempt to take on the highest peak in Western Europe, in a bid to raise awareness for the Big Change Charitable Trust.
Sir Richard Branson will also be a guest for part of the trek, in which his children Sam and Holly will be partaking in.
The group initially came together in 2010 to run a marathon for a number of charities, and it has taken two years to get the initiative off the ground.
Beatrice said: 'The marathon was something where 34 friends came together and it was an incredibly successful event. It inspired us to create something about the Big Change and what's better when trying to launch a charity than challenging ourselves?'
The group are currently taking part in their first training climb from the ski resort of Chamonix in France.
