Prince Willem-Alexander
Holland's Prince Willem-Alexander has congratulated his country's athletes for their performance at the London Olympic Games.
The royal - who is the only Dutch member of the International Olympic Committee - took to the royal family's official twitter page to praise the competitors for their participation following their return from the UK.
He tweeted: 'My congratulations to all the Dutch Olympic athletes. You all did fantastically well.'
The prince travelled to London with his family to cheer on the competitors in several events last week.
The Dutch athletes returned home yesterday (13.08.12) by Eurostar, arriving at Den Bosch station at 4 pm where a welcome home party was held.
Willem-Alexander's brother is currently in hospital in London where he has been in a coma ever since he was trapped under the snow for 15 minutes while skiing off piste in Austria in February.
A statement on the royal family's website reads: 'On February 17, 2012, Prince Friso was the victim of an avalanche in the ski resort of Lech, Austria. After treatment in the intensive care unit of the Innsbruck State Hospital in early March, the Prince was transferred to London for further treatment and care in the Wellington hospital. There resides the prince ever since.'
