Prince Philip
Prince Philip visited the Isle of Wight for his second visit in a matter of weeks yesterday (13.08.12).
The 9-year-old royal made a trip to Cowes with his wife Queen Elizabeth in July and returned to the Isle of Wight for a series of engagements.
Following lunch at the County Club, Newport, he paid a visit to a mobile health unit before stopping by family business AJ Wells and Son, to unveil a plaque marking its 40th anniversary, according to iwcp.co.uk.
Residents were thrilled to see the Duke of Edinburgh looking fit and well following a health scare in June when he was admitted to hospital for a bladder infection.
Philip fell ill following the Diamond Jubilee Thames River Pageant where he spent four hours on a barge in adverse weather conditions.
Although he was forced to miss a number of engagements including the Diamond Jubilee concert and a trip to Nottingham with his wife Queen Elizabeth, he has gone on to make a full recovery and recently appeared at the London Olympic Games Opening ceremony with his wife.
