Charles and Camilla welcome Olympic torch
Jul 26, 2012, 12:01 GMT

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla
Britain's Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall visited the Olympic torch relay in London yesterday (25.07.12).
The royal couple went to Tottenham, north London, to see the flame being carried through the area and they also posed for pictures with torchbearers Scott Moorhouse and Jay Kamiraz, whose Souls of Prophecy choir is a favourite of the prince.
Earlier in the day the flame had travelled 30 miles through the London boroughs of Harrow, Brent, Barnet and Enfield before arriving in Haringey, where Charles and Camilla appeared on the side of the road as Jay came to the end of his run and passed the flame on to Scott.
The royal couple then stood either side of the torchbearers while photographs were taken before Scott - an amputee who lost his left leg at the knee after an accident when he was six weeks old - began his stint with the flame.
The relay finished at Alexandra Palace, where 68-year-old Frank Adams passed the flame to two-times Olympic champion Daley Thompson, who lit the cauldron at the famous venue.
A total of 8,000 people will carry the flame during its 8,000-mile, 70-day journey to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Stratford, east London tomorrow (27.07.12).
