Katy Perry has a crush on Prince Harry.

The 'Firework' hitmaker - who is single since splitting from husband Russell Brand last year - would love a date with the royal because he is a 'hot ginger'.

She said: 'Prince Harry is single and a hot ginger. I love a hot ginger.'

However, she could have competition from her pal Cheryl Cole, who was spotted flirting with Harry after the Diamond Jubilee concert last month.

The 'Call My Name' hitmaker is said to have told friends she wants a dinner date with the royal following their encounter at the afterparty for the gig - where Cheryl performed for Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth - in Buckingham Palace.

A source said: 'They were definitely flirting and Cheryl said afterwards she'd love a dinner date with Harry.'

Cheryl - who has admitted in the past to having a crush on the prince - reportedly made the first move, approaching Harry for a chat.

The insider added: 'Cheryl wasted no time sidling up to Harry in the swanky Long Gallery. She spotted Harry and made a beeline for him. He was standing with a couple of friends and his brother Prince William and his wife Duchess Catherine weren't far away. Cheryl had arrived with her manager will.i.am, who looked like he was encouraging her to go over so she did.'
