Prince William's breakfast in bed for birthday

Prince William enjoyed breakfast in bed and was given a new watch for his 30th birthday yesterday (21.06.12).

The British royal's wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, served him his first meal of the day in bed, and presented him with an especially designed watch by Crown Jewellers Collins & Sons.

Duchess Catherine - who was known as Kate Middleton prior to the couple's nuptials last year - is also said to be organising a big party for his landmark birthday with his brother, Prince Harry.

Guests have been asked to bring a prop and make a brief speech about the prince to 'provoke memories' of his student days.

A friend of Catherine, 30, told The Sun newspaper: 'She's spent weeks planning this. William can't believe he is 30 so Kate wants all his old friends there. It's very sad Wills' mum hasn't seen him hit 30 and Kate will pay tribute to Diana in a speech.'

William hasn't had time to celebrate his birthday this week, as he's been on an RAF training course.

As he turned 30 yesterday, he inherited an estimated £10 million from his late mother Princess Diana's estate.

The royal has the option of taking control of half of a trust fund left behind by Princess Diana - who died in a Paris car crash in 1997 - which is widely believed to have grown to be worth more than £20 million.

William's brother, Prince Harry, 27, will inherit his part of the share on his 30th birthday on September 15, 2014.
