Princess Madeleine
Queen Silvia has given her seal of approval to daughter Princess Madeleine's boyfriend.
The 29-year-old princess has been living with American millionaire Chris O' Neil in New York since November and after the pair shared a dinner with the monarch this week, sources say Silvia gave Madeleine her blessing.
According to HELLO! magazine, King Carl Gustaf was initially reluctant about the couple as he hoped his daughter would stay in Sweden and assume more duties as a working royal but both her parents have now come to terms with her decision to live permanently in the US.
Madeleine, met Chris after she moved to New York in April 2010 following the break-down of her relationship with fiance Jonas Bergstrom after he reportedly cheated on her.
The Swedish royal palace said at the time: 'They have decided that the best for them is to go their separate ways.'
Madeleine - who has an undergraduate degree in art, history and ethnology - then turned to charity work, working at the World Childhood Foundation, the non-profit organisation founded by her mother.
