James Bond to be knighted by Queen Elizabeth?
May 2, 2012, 12:00 GMT
James Bond is to be knighted by Britain's Queen Elizabeth in new movie 'Skyfall'.
The spy character - who is played by Daniel Craig - will receive a knighthood in the picture for his services to the UK, and the queen is reported to have even filmed a cameo in the Sam Mendes-directed film.
A source told The Evening Standard: 'Daniel Craig was here in black tie one morning in early April. Dame Judi Dench was also here, and the talk of the Palace was that Bond was going to be knighted that morning.'
It has previously been claimed Bond arrives at the palace in London after a request from the queen, who then asks him to open the Olympic Games.
He is then taken by helicopter from Buckingham Palace to the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, East London.
A spokesperson for the queen said: 'Buckingham Palace is involved in a number of filming projects during this special Jubilee year and we would not go into details of a specific project until a nearer the time of transmission.'
