Apr 17, 2012, 12:00 GMT

Prince Willem-Alexander
The Netherlands' Crown Prince Willem-Alexander has purchased a new home in Greece.
The first-in-line to the Dutch throne has bought a villa - close to estates owned by Russian president Vladmir Putin and Scottish actor Sean Connery - near the town of Kranidi for £3.7 million, according to media reports.
Willem-Alexander originally built a villa on land purchased in Mozambique but sold it in early 2012 in response to political criticism of the construction.
The Dutch government has confirmed they are aware of the new home in Greece but said no further information would be available.
It is believed the Crown Prince and his wife Princess Maxima are familiar with the area from when they the wedding of Greek Prince Nikalaos and Tatiana Blatnik on the island of Spetses in 2010.
The country's Queen Beatrix - from whom Willem-Alexander will receive the throne - recently cancelled several public engagements to remain with her critically ill second child Prince Johan Friso, who was buried under an avalanche in February.
