A bottle of whiskey distilled in 1952 is set to be unveiled for Britain's Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee.
The blended malt and grain has had the final touches put on it by Jim Beveridge at John Walker & Sons and will be unveiled in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the queen's reign over the UK.
Jim said: 'The whisky was first distilled in 1952 and there was a great deal of care and attention at that stage.
'It was then stored in our distilleries until about the beginning of last year when we started to think about what whiskies we would use in the project.
'We tested the whiskies and we felt it would be good to marry the blends in a special oak cask, and the process will be completed today when we decant the whisky into the glass.'
Only 60 bottles of the alcohol have been produced, which will be sold in a crystal decanter accompanied by two crystal glasses enclosed in a wooden cabinet made of pine and oak.
Profits from the sale of the bottle will go towards the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust, a charity aimed at providing grants to craftspeople throughout the UK.
