Prince William and Duchess Catherine
Prince William and Duchess Catherine instantly 'fell in love' with their new puppy.
The royals received the pooch, a Cocker Spaniel from a friend of Catherine's mother Carole Middleton in Bucklebury, Berkshire and although they initially decided to only take the dog for a short period to see how they would adapt, they quickly decided to keep him.
A source told US Weekly: 'The puppy is theirs. He belongs to a litter of cocker spaniels from one of Carole Middleton's friends near home.
'At first, they had just taken it home for a short period of time to see how they adapt but William and Catherine fell in love with the pup instantly and it wasn't long before they decided to keep him. He's now part of the royal fold!'
The couple have been spotted out walking with the dog near their home in Anglesey, Wales and onlookers said they appeared besotted with the pup.
A source said: 'The dog is ever so cute. The duke and duchess have been seen with it several times and he runs along at their heels.
'They are constantly in fits of laughter as it tries to catch them up.'
The couple are known to be dog lovers and both kept the animals as pets when they were growing up with William owning a black Labrador named Wigeon and the Middleton family known to be huge fans of Cocker Spaniels.
