Princess Victoria's hen kidnapping
May 26, 2010, 12:03 GMT
Sweden's Princess Victoria was kidnapped to attend her hen party.
The 33-year-old princess - who is set to marry luxury gym owner Daniel Westling on June 19 - was having a meal to celebrate her brother Prince Carl Phillip's 31st birthday at the Royal Palace in Stockholm when a group of masked men reportedly entered the room and demanded as their ransom that she attend the party.
The princess was then taken to a special gathering of childhood friends, including her younger sister Princess Madeleine, before hopping on board a yacht and sailing around the Swedish coast for a number of days.
Victoria - who got engaged to Daniel early last year - is also planning a wedding just as lavish, and was recently reported to have demanded a £1.2 million makeover for the church she's getting married in.
She is thought to have asked for the building to be thoroughly cleaned ahead of the service, a painstaking process which requires the church being closed to the public.
Project manager Ake Sanding said: "You have to be very handy to pull this off. You can't lie in on the tree area that is close to it. It's about very small details; wad of cotton, tops, and solvent are what you need when you do the cleaning."
