Duchess of York's regrets

Britain's Duchess of York regrets trying to sell access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.
The duchess - who was caught out by an undercover reporter trying to sell access to her trade envoy ex-husband Prince Andrew for £500,000 - has since apologised for her actions, which also saw her take a £27,700 cash payment.
In a statement yesterday (23.05.10), Sarah admitted there had been a "serious lapse of judgement", claiming her financial situation was "under stress".
She said: "I very deeply regret the situation and the embarrassment caused. It is true that my financial situation is under stress. However, that is no excuse for a serious lapse in judgement and I am very sorry that this has happened."
The duchess reportedly promised to introduce the undercover reporter to Andrew - who she divorced in 1996 - claiming he would help fix lucrative deals, whilst demanding a cut of all profits.
She allegedly said: "Look after me and he'll look after you. You'll get it back tenfold. I can open any door you want."
The 50-year-old royal also added that her ex-husband was "not aware or involved in any of the discussions that occurred" - a statement which has since been confirmed by the palace and Andrew who "categorically denies any knowledge of any meeting".
Earlier this month, there were reports that the duchess was "on the brink of financial meltdown" for the second time in her life.
The full extent of her current financial crisis is not yet known, but her New York-based company Hartmoor, which she founded to encompass various business ventures, folded last year with debts of £650,000.
A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman last night (23.05.10) refused to comment on the allegations.
