Queen Elizabeth's Gaga fan
May 17, 2010, 12:23 GMT
Britain's Queen Elizabeth has an unlikely fan in the US popstar Lady Gaga.
The British monarch has provided a great source of inspiration for the eccentric popstar Lady Gaga - real name Stefani Germanotta - who is trawling through hundreds of hours of Her Majesty's speeches in order to replicate her royal tones in time for her UK tour next month.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "She's been copying the way the queen speaks from online content. She loves all things British, especially the queen. She wants to be able to do a really good accent for when she's over here on tour later this month. If she gets dressed up in regal attire, she feels like it helps her accent."
The wannabe royal - who met the queen at the Royal Variety Show in December - has already tried out her accent on the singer Sir Elton John and has even been dressing up in regal outfits for inspiration.
The source added: "GaGa is trying it out on every available opportunity. She chatted to Sir Elton about various British elements - she can't get enough of the monarch. One thing she loves doing is prank-calling her friends to see if they can guess who it is."
