Duchess of Cornwall's cooking tips
May 13, 2010, 13:16 GMT
Britain's Duchess of Cornwall shared cooking tips with teenagers at a London refuge yesterday (12.05.10).
Camilla - the wife of Prince Charles - spoke with girls at the Barnardo's centre, which helps victims of child exploitation, where she was happy to answer questions from youngsters.
Service manager Gloria Stott said: "One of the young people asked if she knew the queen. She said 'Yes, actually, she is my mother-in-law'. Another girl asked Camilla where she lived and she said she lived in London and Gloucestershire.
"I thought she was really positive with the girls: she was completely appropriate and lovely. She talked about the 'Nanny McPhee' film and cooking programmes. She also gave them some cooking tips for an apple crumble."
The Duchess - the president of Barnardo's - also talked with staff as she was shown around the facility.
Earlier in the day Camilla - who is still using a wheelchair while her broken leg heals - visited an animal refuge in north west London.
The duchess even joked she wanted to adopt one of the animals, after becoming enraptured by a 10-week-old terrier cross named Zizi, who licked her hand and snuggled into her jacket.
As she went to leave the Mayhew Animal Home, Camilla told the centre's chief executive Caroline Yates: "I've got to nip back and get that puppy."
