May 11, 2010, 12:28 GMT
Britain's Queen Elizabeth is to present the 1st Battalion, the Grenadier Guards with new regimental colours.
The 84-year-old monarch will present the colours in central London to members of the unit - who are famed for their roles in ceremonial events such as Trooping the Colour.
The presentation takes place in Buckingham Palace, and will see more than 550 Guardsman march into the gardens of the queen's residence.
Her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, will also be present at the event, which will be watched by family and friends of the soldiers.
Following the event, guests will go to Wellington Barracks near the palace for a reception attended by the queen and her husband.
As well as ceremonial duties, the Grenadier Guards also take part in armed battle, most recently returning from the conflict in Afghanistan where they lost a number of servicemen, including Sergeant Major Darren Chant in November.
