Prince Charles honours troops
May 10, 2010, 13:24 GMT
Britain's Prince Charles honoured fallen troops yesterday (09.05.10).
The Prince of Wales - who is Commander in Chief of the Royal Dragoon Guards - received salutes from serving and former soldiers as they marched past him at the Cavalry Memorial in London's Hyde Park.
After the march, the prince placed a wreath at the Cavalry Memorial, on the 86th anniversary of its unveiling, before taking part in a half-hour service of remembrance at the nearby Bandstand.
Hundreds of soldiers, their families and well wishers turned out for the service to sing hymns such as 'O God Our Help In Ages Past' and 'O Valiant Hearts'.
Charles wore a dark suit and bowler hat for the occasion, which culminated in a minutes silence for the fallen troops.
Prince William and Harry were not present as they were taking part in a charity polo match.
