May 7, 2010, 12:02 GMT
Britain's Prince Edward opened a new community centre in Hampshire.
The royal - who officially opened 'The Hilt' centre in Hiltingbury yesterday (06.05.10) - was met by volunteers and fundraisers, as well as hundreds of children from local schools, as he arrived in his black Land Rover Discovery.
The Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Dame Mary Fagan, then accompanied Edward - The Earl Of Wessex - on a guided tour of the new £1.2m facilities.
The prince praised the "fantastic work" of the many volunteers who had helped to complete the project before unveiling a plaque to commemorate the opening.
The community centre will now be used by a resident playgroup, youth clubs and community groups and will hosts film nights, fitness classes and theatre productions.
