Prince Andrew's business call
May 7, 2010, 12:02 GMT
Britain's Prince Andrew called for a stronger relationship between the UK and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Duke of York - who is the UK Special Representative for International Trade & Investment - made a speech during a special lunch at the British Club in Bahrain, during which he outlined the strong business ties which already exist between the two countries, as well as highlighting his aims to stimulate private sector investment.
He said: "Bahrain and Great Britain have enjoyed a mutually beneficial business and trading relationship stretching back over hundreds of years. Trade between our two countries and the sharing of ideas particularly in the key areas of Industry, Education, Health and Finance will help contribute towards the success of Bahrain's 2030 economic strategy."
The prince later spoke about how he had hoped to build on a highly successful visit made earlier this year by the Lord Mayor of the City of London.
