Prince William's family closeness
Apr 23, 2010, 12:02 GMT
Britain's Prince William reportedly calls his girlfriend's father 'Dad'.
The prince - the son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana - reportedly amazed fellow holidaymakers in the French Alps last month with his closeness to Kate Middleton's parents Carol and Mike.
A source told People magazine: "William was clearly very close to Kate's father, and every time he spoke to him, William replied, 'Yes, Dad.' "
The news is set to further fuel speculation an engagement announcement for the pair is imminent, with bookmakers setting odds at 1-2 that William will propose soon.
Nick Weinberg, a spokesperson for Ladbrokes, said: "We've seen quite a bit of money, suggesting an engagement is imminent."
It has previously been claimed that an engagement will be announced in June, though the reports were quashed by royal representatives.
However, a source close to the prince insists: "The engagement is a given. It's just a question of when."
