Prince Charles to meet Scouts
Apr 23, 2010, 12:02 GMT
Britain's Prince Charles is to meet scouts from across the UK on Sunday (April 25).
The first-in-line to the British throne will meet young men and women at a service in St George's Chapel in Windsor alongside TV survival expert Bear Grylls.
The scouts will parade in the Quadrangle before marching into the chapel inside Windsor Castle to attend a special service of thanksgiving.
Charles will receive a salute at the parade.
St George is the patron saint of both the Scouts and England, and the parade takes place every year on the Sunday closest to St George's Day.
In previous years Queen Elizabeth II has instead attended.
In the 14th Century, St George was declared both the patron saint and the protector of the royal family in England.
As well as being the patron saint of England, St George - who is most famous for slaying dragons - also carries the same mantle in Ethiopia, Greece and Russia.
