Duchess of York's climate call
Apr 21, 2010, 12:21 GMT
Britain's Duchess of York has called on world leaders to take action against climate change.
Sarah Ferguson - who attended the Millennium Summit, an international conference in Montreal, yesterday (20.04.10) - expressed her anger at governments who need to "clean up" what they're doing.
She said: "It's up to us to ask the government what in the earth they're doing about it. I'm not making a judgment, but I'm certainly going to ask them what the situation is. so they better clean up their act."
Sarah - who has daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie with ex-husband Prince Andrew - was seeking to underline the urgency of taking action, which she claims is part of an array of social issues that need the developed world's attention.
She added: "You can do so much: unplug your telephone charger when you leave, turn your lights off. Don't think that's silly because every little bit helps. I'm a global mother fighting to give my children a future."
The Millennium Summit will finish tomorrow (22.04.10).
