Former royal aide's case adjourned
Apr 20, 2010, 12:44 GMT
A former aide to Britain's Duchess of York had her absconding case adjourned today (20.04.10).
Jane Andrews, 43, the former dresser to Sarah Ferguson, was jailed for murdering her wealthy businessman boyfriend Tom Cressman in 2001 after he refused to marry her.
She had been in East Sutton Park open prison near Maidstone, Kent, when she absconded last November, sparking a two-day manhunt until she was eventually discovered in a nearby Premier Inn Hotel.
Since her discovery, she has been remanded in Holloway Prison, north London, and was originally due to appear at Maidstone Magistrates Court today (20.04.10) to answer her absconding charge but it has since been adjourned.
The Old Bailey had previously ordered Ms Andrews to serve 12 years in jail after they convicted her of murdering her partner.
She first hit the headlines in 1995, when a suitcase containing £250,000 worth of the Duchess' jewellery went missing while it was in her care.
Andrews will now appear at court on May 4 to answer the charges.
