Britain's Prince William has turned down an invite to a royal wedding.
The prince and his girlfriend Kate Middleton, 28, were due to be star guests at the marriage of Sweden's Princess Victoria and her fiance Daniel Westling but William is expected to decline the formal invitation when it arrives at Buckingham Palace later this month because he's under such intense pressure to name his own wedding day.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "He would rather go anywhere than a royal wedding at the moment. The Scandinavian royals are a lot more relaxed about protocol so Kate could go.
"William feels it would be like firing a starting gun and their faces would be on souvenir tea towels by the time the service was over."
The 27-year-old prince is expected to claim royal duties at the World Cup in South Africa will keep him away from the event in Stockholm.
His father, Prince Charles, is likely to accept the formal invitation for June 19 however.
