Prince Harry's career focus
Apr 14, 2010, 12:02 GMT
Britain's Prince Harry is focused on his career.
The prince - who is approaching the end of his army air corps trainee pilot course in Middle Wallop, Hampshire - is reportedly working so hard to impress his superiors in the hope they will allow him to fly a Lynx or Apache fighter helicopter that he's abandoning his social life.
A royal aide told The Sun newspaper: "At the moment he's actually working incredibly hard on his flying training so he is taking it pretty easy on nights out and sticking to the odd beer or glass of champagne." A friend of the 25-year-old prince also admitted Harry was so focused on his career that he would probably have a huge party to celebrate finishing the course.
He said: "Harry is very much the life and soul of the party so it's easy for people to think that he's getting the drinks in - especially after they have had a few themselves. He's saving the partying for once he passes his training."
One of the prince's army superiors recently spoke about how he was doing so well that it was likely he would achieve his dream of flying one of the fighter planes.
He said: "Harry has done better on his course than we were expecting and that is why the Apache is now being considered for him. It certainly hasn't been ruled out."
