Prince William's photo auction
Apr 14, 2010, 12:02 GMT
Britain's Prince William will launch an auction of celebrity photographs tomorrow (15.04.10).
The prince - who is patron of Crisis, the UK's leading homeless charity for single people - is set to launch the sale at Christie's in London, where the public can bid on pictures, including one of the young royal himself, within the 'A Positive View' sale.
The iconic pictures - vintage and contemporary -were taken by world famous photographers such as Helmut Newton, Mario Testino and Rankin, and feature stars such as actress Keira Knightley posing on an elephant in Kenya and supermodel Kate Moss wearing a torn veil in Marrakech are included.
One of the most popular items in the sale is expected to be a photo of the 27-year-old royal, which was taken by a previously homeless man, Jeff Hubbard.
This will be the first time a portrait taken of Prince William by an ordinary member of the public has been put up for a public sale.
The image, which has previously been on display at London's Somerset House, received attention when it was first revealed because the photo appears to show William sporting thicker, darker hair than usual.
Speaking about the photo, Jeff previously said: "I'm old enough to know that almost every royal has been follicly challenged. All I can say is he's a handsome lad and he's got more hair than me.''
Further details of the auction are available from www.apositiveview.com.
