Princess Anne's Eastbourne trip
Apr 13, 2010, 12:24 GMT
Britain's Princess Anne will meet with ex-offenders tomorrow (14.04.10).
The royal - who is 10th in line to the throne - is set to speak to former prisoners about all they've experienced whilst staying at Eastbourne Custody centre as part of a trip which will later see her attend a seminar at Sussex Police headquarters in Lewes.
The princess will help launch the new Integrated Offenders Management scheme, which will see offenders and their victims meet with a trained facilitator to discuss what happened, who was harmed and how and what can be done to make the situation better.
Princess Anne is expected to speak at the seminar about how the initiative will reduce offending among prolific and persistent offenders, in areas where it already takes place.
Peter Woolf, an ex-prolific offender who now works in restorative justice, will also join the royal at the seminar.
He told the Eastbourne Today newspaper: "Having been through a Restorative Justice process myself - it changed my life. I know exactly what motivates offenders and which levers to pull to keep them out of crime. I get a real kick out of this, straightening people out and helping to sort out our communities."
