Princess Eugenie isn't a party animal
Mar 25, 2010, 13:02 GMT
Britain's Princess Eugenie claims she isn't a "wild student".
The princess - who is currently in her first year of a combined studies degree in English literature, history of art and politics at Newcastle University - is keen to play down her image as a party-loving socialite, because that just isn't her.
Speaking at a reception to launch the Elephant Parade Charity, an organisation which helps to save the endangered Asian elephant, she said: "I'm no wild student. I went out with friends last night, but I think I'm just going to bed tonight."
Eugenie - the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York - turned 20 on Tuesday (23.03.10) and let her hair down earlier in the week with a bowling party for 50 of her family and friends.
A source said: "They had great fun. They drank mojitos and ate mini-burgers, hot-dogs and other American fare."
The princess also revealed she was a passionate supporter of the Elephant Parade Charity which is run by Mark Shand, the Duchess of Cornwall's brother.
She said: "It's a very worthwhile cause."
